Two full weeks of Phish shows have now passed us and this week was as good if not better than the first. This week saw some major highlights, including a top 20 version of a very popular song. On a side note, the band still needs to allow more time for some of the jams to develop since they often cut them short. It wont be long though (I’m 100% positive) before Phish is back to their old style and push songs like Tweezer to 20 mins or Gin to over 15 mins. Included in this week’s post are the highlights from these concerts and a schedule for the upcoming shows next week. Enjoy

Really tight and well played version…extremely solid jam
Phish – Down With Disease (2011/06/03 Clarkston, MI)
Holy shit! What an amazing “Disease” the band played this night! Without a doubt one of the better versions of this song. There is literally ten minutes of pure greatness. It is extremely clear (as seen through this 25 min DWD) that when Phish pushes the limit on song length, great things can, will, and do develop. This song is proof! If you listen to any song in this post, make sure it is this one…

Phish – Fee (2011/06/05 Cinncinati, OH)
“Fee” is definitely the most underplayed Phish song at live shows. It has beyond imaginable jam capabilities and whenever the band plays it they always cut it short. If Phish were to explore this song, it would have huge potential to be a major jam vehicle for shows. In this version, Trey uses the megaphone to sing the lyrics (which he hasnt done in several years). The use of the megaphone is the proper way to sing the song since thats how its done on the album Junta. In addition, this version offers a very short but very sweet melodic minute towards the end
